Edgerton Elementary School
Stop rolling out the cart!
Edgerton Elementary had a situation that isn't uncommon in many schools around the country.
Edgerton Elementary's procedure before us:
- roll out a projector cart
- pull an extension cord to the center of the gym
- uncoil 75 feet of 14/2 speaker cable
- roll out a sound system cart
- connect the speaker wires to the cart
- connect the speaker wires to the wall
- position the projector to hit the screen just right
- balance a laptop on the cart
- connect projector to the computer
- connect the computer audio to the mixer on the second cart
- push play and hope it works
Edgerton Elementary's new procedure:
- push the power button
- connect the laptop to the cable sitting on the rack
- push play
See the difference? Oh, and that projector absolutely destroys the portables. It's got a lens designed for a perfect throw and as you can see, we nailed it.

Challenge
Utilize a bunch of existing equipment, and fit it into a custom mounted equipment rack in a separate room from the gym. Add a projector that was permanently mounted to the gym wall and didn't interfere with the dividing apron. Make this work as easily as possible for all staff.
Value
The value saved in just set up time and usability on this job is absolutely astonishing. What used to take 15-30 minutes every time you wanted to use the projector, now takes 2 minutes tops. It's an awesome solution for this space.
